Small Time Monsters, the second full - length album by The Dream Machine, is due for release this April on Run On Records/Modern Sky. If their 2022 critically - acclaimed debut Thank God! It’s The Dream Machine… was a wild child, Small Time Monsters is its polished younger sibling. The album features psychedelia, euphoric choruses, surf guitar riffs, and B - movie references, all set against the backdrop of their seaside town, New Brighton. This time, the wild elements are tamed, and the songs are concise three - minute gems. The lead single, Frankenstein, is an anthem for the high - energy generation, an earworm that combines haunted rockabilly with sun - kissed melodies like Blossoms. Cindy’s Eyes, a tale of unrequited love, has a powerful chorus fit for large arenas. Produced by The Coral’s James Skelly, parts of the album were recorded at The Dream Machine’s rehearsal space and finalized at Skelly’s Kempston Street Studios. Singer and songwriter Zak McDonnell’s lyrics have a more refined, literary quality, exploring everyday life, teenage angst, B - movie monsters, family issues, and coming - of - age stories in modern Britain. Small Time Monsters represents a band breaking out of the small town and into the big world.

If you've got the Limited Edition LP and Signed Print of Small Time Monsters, here's how to enjoy it. First, for the LP, carefully take it out of the sleeve. Put it on your record player, set the needle gently on the groove, and let the music of The Dream Machine fill your space. Listen closely to the unique blend of psychedelia and surf guitar. When it comes to the signed print, find a nice spot on your wall to display it. You can use picture hangers or sticky hooks. Make sure the area is dry and clean. To keep the LP in good shape, always return it to its sleeve after use and store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid touching the grooves with your fingers. For the signed print, protect it from direct sunlight as this can fade the ink over time. And that's it! Enjoy this special music and art combo.
