Description

MILES IN FRANCE is the eighth part of the famous Miles Davis Bootleg Series. It focuses on the start of the Second Great Quintet in 1963 and 1964. The music here shows both an end and a new beginning. This 6 - CD set has 5 different performances by the Miles Davis Quintet. The playing is full of energy and deep feelings, hinting at the special bond between Miles, the group, and France. It features over 4 hours of unreleased live music. Miles is backed by George Coleman in 1963 recordings and Wayne Shorter in 1964 recordings, along with Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams. This set expands on the 1964 live album MILES IN EUROPE. It includes all three unique performances from Antibes and two never - before - released concerts from Paris in October 1964. The audio is mixed and mastered in top - notch quality. The CDs come in 3 gatefold mini - jackets in a luxurious slipcase box with a die - cut O - card and a 32 - page book filled with unseen photos, ephemera, and detailed liner notes by Marcus J. Moore. Tracklist details are provided for each CD, covering performances from 1963 festivals in Antibes and 1964 concerts in Paris.

Using this 6 - CD box set is easy. Just pop a CD into your CD player and enjoy the amazing jazz music. Make sure your CD player is in good working condition. When handling the CDs, hold them by the edges to avoid scratching. Store the CDs in their original jackets and keep the box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Don't expose the CDs to extreme temperatures or humidity as it might damage the discs. If you want to listen to a specific performance, check the tracklist in the 32 - page book and select the right CD.
