In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the original London production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Starlight Express', we're releasing a special collector's 1LP zoetrope of the original cast recording. This year marks four decades since its first performance at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre in 1984. To commemorate this milestone, highlights from the original cast recording will be available on this unique vinyl. The release aligns with a brand - new production opening on June 8th at the Starlight Auditorium in Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. Audiences will be transported into a world of speed, song, and storytelling as a 40 - strong cast performs beloved musical theatre songs like 'AC/DC', 'Rolling Stock', 'Light at the End of the Tunnel', and the iconic 'Starlight Express'. Each side of the vinyl, masterfully designed by Zoetrope specialist Drew Tetz, will come to life when rotated under the right light or captured on your phone. This limited - edition Zoetrope features the original cast including Stephanie Lawrence, Frances Ruffelle, Jess Shankley, Jeffrey Daniel, and Ray Shell, along with a special bonus track from the 1992 London re - launch. The story follows a child’s train set that magically comes to life, where Rusty the steam train dreams of winning the race to become the world's fastest, inspired by the 'Starlight Express'.
