Kate's debut double album, Aerial, hit the shelves on November 7, 2005, and quickly climbed to the 3rd spot in the UK album chart. Just like 1985's Hounds Of Love, this album is divided into two parts. The first disc is titled 'A Sea Of Honey', and the second is 'A Sky Of Honey'. In its first week of release, it sold over 90,000 copies and has since been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. UK music magazine Mojo named Aerial the 3rd best album of 2005, and it received a BRIT Award nomination for Best British Album in 2006. Kate was also up for Best British Female that year.
