Description
Black Country, New Road are back with exciting news. Their second album, “Ants From Up There”, will be released on February 4th via Ninja Tune. Exactly a year after their acclaimed debut “For the first time”, the band has built on that success and created this new album, which skillfully balances a bold stylistic change and a natural progression. Alongside the announcement, the band has shared the first single, ‘Chaos Space Marine’. This track, with its lively violin, rhythmic piano, and saxophone stabs, has quickly become a live favorite. Frontman Isaac Wood calls it “the best song we’ve ever written”. Their debut “For the first time” was a 2021 Album of the Year contender, receiving rave reviews and shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize. It made a big impact on the UK Albums Chart, landing at #4 in its first week. On “Ants From Up There”, the band expands on their unique blend of klezmer, post - rock, and more, creating a distinct sonic space that combines classical minimalism, indie - folk, pop, and alt rock. Recorded at Chale Abbey Studios on the Isle Of Wight with long - term live engineer Sergio Maschetzko, the band is highly confident in the end result. Black Country, New Road are also known for their legendary live performances. After a series of successful shows and tours, they are announcing more UK & IE dates in support of the album in April 2022, starting with their biggest London headliner at The Roundhouse in February.
