Mark Jenkin not only directed and edited this DIY yet highly successful film but also composed its amazing score. 'Bait' has been nominated for four British Independent Film Awards, including Best Indie Film, Best Director, Breakthrough Producer, and Best Editing. It's one of the top - grossing and most successful indie films of 2019. The score is pressed on beautiful turquoise blue vinyl. Jenkin said he initially played with drone ideas as a break from editing. He experimented with delays, reverbs, and decay, noticing a nautical theme in the sounds. An original drone was made separately from the film, then he realized it could work as a score. He created about 12 drones (eight on the album), mostly variations on a theme, and placed them in the edit. The drones blend well with the ever - present sea sounds in the film.
