Adrianne Lenker, a well - known artist, is set to release her new solo album, Bright Future, on 22 March via 4AD. This is her first album since 2020's songs & instrumentals. Co - produced by Philip Weinrobe, it features contributions from Nick Hakim, Mat Davidson, and Josefin Runsteen. The previously released single 'Ruined' is followed by 'Sadness As A Gift', a track that combines timelessness with a fresh and surprising feel on every listen. Adrianne's voice brings her poetry to life. On Bright Future, she straightforwardly sings lines like 'You have my heart // I want it back'. In autumn 2022, she got lucky as three musical friends joined her at the forest - hidden Double Infinity studio. The result was magical, creating a 12 - track album that tells the story of a journeyed heart. Phil Weinrobe prepared the studio with an Otari 1/2 inch 8 - Track and Studer console. Mat Davidson plays piano, guitar, and violin, Nick Hakim brings sensitivity to the piano, and Josefin Runsteen adds her 'magnetic and contagious' energy. The album combines thoughtful engineering with the spontaneity of a field recording. It captures Adrianne's talent in stunning clarity and also includes the original recording of the beloved Big Thief song 'Vampire Empire'. Tracklisting: 1. Real House 2. Sadness As A Gift 3. Fool 4.
