Brilliant: Vinyl LP

Even today, Bill Evans continues to influence jazz pianists. His use of impressionist harmony, unique interpretation of traditional jazz pieces, and his signature rhythmically independent, 'singing' melodic lines are truly remarkable. Evans first stepped into the spotlight when he joined Miles Davis’ sextet during the recording of Kind of Blue. After leaving the sextet, he started his career as a bandleader, and his last trio with Marc Johnson on bass and Joe LaBarbera on drums was truly iconic. In 1980, just before Evans’ passing, this trio recorded The Brilliant live at the Keystone Jazzclub in San Francisco. Side A features tracks like Laurie, Letter To Evan, Mornin’ Glory, and Knit For Mary F. Side B includes Up With The Lark, Gary’s Theme, and Bill’s Hit Tune.
