Dance music legend Sasha is back at Night Time Stories with his latest project, 'Da Vinci Genius', out on November 29th. His 2016 release 'Scene Delete' on the same label was a fresh take on Sasha, an imaginary movie soundtrack and a new direction for the experienced producer/DJ.
'Da Vinci Genius' is an immersive show that first appeared in Berlin in 2021 and then moved to Amsterdam a year later. It features the work of Leonardo Da Vinci, the great Italian Renaissance polymath. The score, inspired by movie and TV scores, uses Sasha's skills as an electronic music producer and his love for movies. He got help from 'Scene Delete' veterans Dennis White, Dave Gardner, and Barry Jamieson for this complex project.
Sasha says, "I've never written music like this before. It was really exciting. We wanted to capture the atmosphere of great film scores and balance classical music with electronic sounds. We took a more thoughtful approach, listening to scores like 'Barry Lyndon', 'Interstellar', and 'Succession'. It was hard work, but it's one of our best achievements."
The album is a dreamy journey. Compositions like 'Mosaic', 'Equality', and 'Clouds' have beautiful nuances, atmosphere, and melodic layers. Only in tracks like 'Super Hero (with Sentre)' and 'Into The Metaverse' does Sasha use his more familiar sound.
With 'Da Vinci Genius', Sasha might be starting a new phase in his career. He says, "I wanted to balance classical and electronic music because the show mixes Leonardo's art with electronics. For example, the Mona Lisa appears and then gets broken up. I wanted to capture the classical mood with electronics behind it."

To enjoy this limited gold vinyl 2LP, first, carefully remove it from the jacket sleeve. Make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Place the vinyl gently on the turntable and use the tonearm to start playing. You can also use the download code included to listen to the tracks on your digital devices. Keep the vinyl away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture to prevent warping. If the vinyl gets dirty, use a soft, anti - static brush to clean it.
