Hokey Pokey: Vinyl LP

Richard and Linda's second LP from 1974 is now available on 180-gram vinyl and comes with a Download Code. Released in 1975, 'Hokey Pokey' is a far more cheerful release than its predecessor, 'I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight'. Richard envisioned 'Hokey Pokey' as a music-hall influenced record. A big fan of Harry Lauder and Gracie Fields, his inspiration shows in the Victorian-style cover by Shirt Sleeve Studio and can be heard in the title track 'Hokey Pokey' and 'Georgie On A Spree'. This album is a blend of darkly comic songs like 'Smiffy’s Glass Eye', world-weary tunes such as 'I’ll Regret It All In The Morning' and 'A Heart Needs A Home', and somber songs like 'The Egypt Room', which Richard described as a mix of The Coasters 'Little Egypt', George Formby, and Dickens via Patricia Highsmith.

To use this vinyl LP, just place it on your turntable, gently drop the needle on the record's edge, and enjoy the music. Make sure your turntable is clean and properly set up for the best sound quality. When handling the vinyl, hold it by the edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the playing surface. Store the record in a cool, dry place, standing upright in a record sleeve to prevent warping. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources. If the record gets dirty, use a record cleaning brush or a mild record cleaning solution to gently clean it following the product's instructions.
