You Me At Six's major - label debut, 'Hold Me Down', hit the shelves on Virgin Records in January 2010, following the triumph of their first album 'Take Off Your Colours'. Formed in 2004 in Weybridge, Surrey, the band got their name from a meet - up time abbreviation. With vocalist Josh Franceschi, guitarists Max Helyer and Chris Miller, and bassist Matt Barnes at the start, drummer Dan Flint joined in 2007. They made a splash at the 2007 Slam Dunk Festival with their heavy, melodic, emo - tinged rock. After two self - released singles, they signed to Slam Dunk Records and then to Virgin by 2010.
