In 1973 at the Cannes Film Festival, René Laloux's feature - length animated film La Planète Sauvage caused a stir and won the Special Jury Prize. Roland Topor's phantasmagorical drawings added to its allure. In this philosophical story where men are domestic toys for blue giants, the Draags, celebrated composer ALAIN GORAGUER crafted an amazing score. It has a haunting main theme, soaring and hypnotic atmospheres, and funky guitar rhythms reminiscent of Isaac Hayes. Over the decades, the film and its soundtrack have become a psychedelic masterpiece, beloved by new generations and sampled by artists like A$ap Mob, Madlib, and Mac Miller. As La Planète Sauvage turns 50, CAM Sugar presents a deluxe edition. Mixed from newly discovered multi - track tapes, it includes 7 unreleased tracks and 3 alternate mixes. Produced under Patrick Goraguer's expert supervision, it comes as a Deluxe gatefold 2LP with a special illustrated zine and a CD digipack. The album's spellbinding power remains intact.
