Description

GLOK is the electronic persona of Andy Bell, well - known as the guitarist of the respected shoegaze band Ride. He's also had stints in other famous groups and a remarkable solo career. This October, his debut full - fledged album as GLOK, 'Pattern Recognition', is out via Bytes, a sister label of Ransom Note Records. Bell is usually celebrated for his guitar - based magic of jangle and drone. But his venture into dance music isn't as shocking as it seems at first. There are sonic similarities between different genres in the deep, hypnotic, and trance - inducing sounds. As Bell says, 'GLOK is about the push - pull between electronic and psych elements in my music.' While not a full - blown concept album, 'Pattern Recognition' loosely chronicles a week of life, from one weekend to the next. Each of the four sides of the vinyl captures a different mindset during this transition. Each side has a unique yet cohesive feel, much like the daily changes a person experiences. Throughout the album, Andy masterfully combines throbbing acid, steamy jack trax, psychedelia, Balearic vibes, techno, Kosmische, shoegaze, art rock, and post - punk, with a touch of ambient, new age, and contemporary classical music.

To enjoy this 'Pattern Recognition' double vinyl LP, simply place it on a turntable. Make sure the turntable is set up correctly and the needle is in good condition. When playing, keep the area quiet to fully immerse in the music. After use, gently clean the vinyl with a soft, anti - static brush to remove dust and debris. Store the vinyl in its sleeve and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping and damage. Avoid touching the playing surface with your fingers as this can leave oils and dirt that may affect the sound quality.
