Sequoyah writes deeply personal lyrics and creates abstract song structures. His music is a blend of wild experimentation and easy accessibility, turning his vulnerabilities into strengths. Born into a musical family in Atlanta, Georgia, with a singer mother and a percussionist father, his musical influences range from East African music to Arthur Russell's baritone. Sequoyah produced this album himself, but also got help from acclaimed producer James Ginzburg and David Corney for mixing. His family pitched in too, with his father drumming, and his mother and little brother singing on different tracks. This album is pressed on virgin vinyl and comes with a free download card.
