Description
GAF is back! This time, they're in their Estrella de la Muerte form, presenting a massive double - album that's a gateway to the cosmic unknown. Led by local Canarian anchor Mladen Kurajica, this prolific project delves deep into esoteric rock. Right from the start, it takes listeners on a krautrock - influenced journey full of 70’s jamming and psychonautic exploration. Recorded in just three days at El Tanque's cultural space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife during the peak of the 2020 COVID pandemic and one of the hottest summers yet, the band went in with no plan. They ditched preconceived ideas and pre - composed songs, loaded up with all their gear, including modular synths, to create new songs on - the - spot. Through pure improvisation and jamming, they crafted the album you see here. There are almost no overdubs or edits, just some song - cutting to fit the album. With almost 5 hours of recordings, it ended up as a 7 - track, 69 - minute double LP. The reverb on the record is the natural 16 - second tail reverb of El Tanque, recorded with room mics at different spots. This is the first fully instrumental album by the Estrella de la Muerte setup, with 7 musicians (usually a sextet). Dive into these psychedelic tunes, 70’s space rock, psychoacoustics, and Kosmishe - inspired jamming. It's the perfect music for mind - altering journeys. 'Pyramids' isn't just a gateway to the cosmic unknown; it's a symbol of the band's free embrace of their subconscious in a cosmic collective. It's ecstatic music for our era!
