Description
Small Time Monsters, the second full - length album from The Dream Machine, will be released this April by Run On Records/ Modern Sky. If 2022’s critically - acclaimed debut Thank God! It’s The Dream Machine… was their rebellious first child, Small Time Monsters is its polished younger sibling. It features psychedelia, euphoric choruses, surf guitar riffs and B - movie references, all set against the backdrop of New Brighton, their beloved seaside town. This time, the wild elements are tamed, and the songs are concise three - minute gems. The lead single, Frankenstein, is an anthemic earworm for the sugar - rush generation, recalling haunted rockabilly and the sunny melodies of Blossoms. Cindy’s Eyes, a surf - stomping track about unrequited love, has a chorus fit for large arenas. Produced by The Coral’s James Skelly, the album was partly recorded at The Dream Machine’s rehearsal space and finalized at Skelly’s Kempston Street Studios. Singer and main songwriter Zak McDonnell’s lyrics are more refined and literary, exploring everyday life, teenage angst, B - movie monsters, family issues, and coming - of - age stories in modern Britain. Small Time Monsters represents a band breaking out of the small town into the big world.
To enjoy this limited green vinyl LP of Small Time Monsters, you'll need a record player. First, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable and use the tonearm to carefully drop the needle onto the starting groove. Adjust the volume to your preference and let the music play. When you're done, lift the tonearm gently and return it to its rest position. Then, take the vinyl off the turntable and place it back in its sleeve. To keep your vinyl in top shape, always handle it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. Store it upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If it gets dirty, you can use a record cleaning brush to gently remove dust.
