Back in stock and shipping early December! Art School Girlfriend, also known as Polly Mackey, is set to release her second album, Soft Landing, via Fiction Records on August 8, 2023. Mackey describes it as a collection of “small euphorias”. This album sees Mackey shift to tactile electronics while keeping the floating melodies of her debut. Along with the announcement, Mackey released “Close To The Clouds”, one of her best tracks yet, following the success of “A Place To Lie” earlier this year. The central refrain of “Close To The Clouds” gives the album its name, and the song features climbing, arpeggiated synths over acid - house inspired drums. Soft Landing comes after Mackey’s 2020 debut, Is It Light Where You Are. It feels like her true debut, full of curiosity and playfulness with songs that seem to fall into place effortlessly. Tracklisting: Side A includes “A Place To Lie”, “Close To The Clouds”, “Real Life”, “Waves”, “Blue Sky feat. Tony Njoku”. Side B has “The Weeks”, “Laugh My Head Off”, “Out There”, “Heaven Hanging Low”, “How Do You Do It”, “Too Bright”.

Using your Soft Landing blue vinyl LP is easy. First, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable, center it, and put the needle on the starting groove. Sit back and enjoy the music! When handling the vinyl, always hold it by the edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the playing surface. After each use, store the vinyl in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Keep your record player and vinyl in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This will help maintain the quality of the music and the vinyl itself for a long time.
