In 1959, during a blistering European tour, Gerry Mulligan took the stage with the Night Lights band. This amazing quartet features Gerry Mulligan on baritone sax and piano, Art Farmer on trumpet, Bill Crow on bass, and Dave Bailey on drums. They were at the height of their skills, and these remarkable recordings solidify Mulligan’s band as one of the hottest jazz groups of that era. Working with the Swedish National Radio Archives and the Gerry Mulligan Estate, we found the original master tapes in the Sveriges Radio vault. We then sent them to Kevin Gray, who did his masterful work in mastering and cutting, giving these previously unreleased recordings amazing sound quality. The new cover art, designed by Two To Tango, regular collaborators of New Land, has a great modernist look. Manufactured at Pallas and printed in reverse - board sleeves on 180gm vinyl, this LP is a must - have for any jazz collection. Gerry Mulligan, a true jazz legend, was a key figure in the West Coast jazz scene from the '50s until his passing in 1996. Voted the top musician on his instrument by Downbeat Magazine for 42 consecutive years, he played a crucial role in shaping the future of jazz. Whether in the Birth Of The Cool era with Miles Davis or forming a piano - less quartet with Chet Baker, Gerry was always at the forefront of American jazz. Tracklist: 1. To enjoy this vinyl LP, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the LP on the turntable, center it, and then lower the tonearm carefully onto the record. Sit back and enjoy the rich, warm sound of Gerry Mulligan's jazz performance. When handling the LP, always hold it by the edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the playing surface, as this can affect the sound quality. After use, store the LP in its sleeve and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. This will help preserve the record and its cover art for years to come.
