Description
Emboldened by collective resilience, Sea Fever is set to release their new album, Surface Sound, this May, following their 2021 debut, Folding Lines. Since 2020, the band has brought together the talents of New Order members Tom Chapman and Phil Cunningham, Iwan Gronow (former Haven member and longtime Johnny Marr bassist), Section 25’s Beth Cassidy, and drummer Elliot Barlow. Sea Fever's identity is shaped by their strong connection and collective growth. If their debut was an opening chapter, Surface Sound is a complete and rewarding album. Chapman says it's full of hope and melancholy, written during a tough time in his life. The album showcases Iwan and Beth's vocal and lyrical skills, Phil's guitar work, and Elliot's drumming. The special vinyl editions of Surface Sound come with a bonus 7-inch featuring a collaboration with the late Denise Johnson on the track Explanation. Chapman wanted people to hear her voice again, so the band finished the song as a tribute. Tracklist: Side A - Breaking Out, Go to Ground, Shouldn’t Have Been this Way, Sincere to Some, Able Eyes; Side B - Thrills, Kicks and Lies, Triggers Us, Loose Cut, Truth Dare, Seen as a Lifeline; Bonus 7” - Explanation (featuring Denise Johnson) (A - full length version / AA - edit).
To enjoy your Surface Sound vinyl album and bonus 7-inch, first make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable and use the tonearm to lower the needle onto the record. Listen to the album from start to finish or pick your favorite tracks. When you're done, carefully lift the tonearm and remove the vinyl. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid touching the playing surface of the vinyl with your fingers to prevent dirt and oil buildup. If the vinyl gets dirty, use a record cleaning brush to gently remove the dust. That's it! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the music.
