On July 13, 2002, over 250,000 concert - goers flocked to Brighton Beach for what was hailed as the 'biggest event the UK has ever seen'. The crowd was four times larger than expected and doubled Brighton’s population at the time. The previous year, around 40,000 people attended the first Big Beach Boutique event. In 2002, Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook) wowed a record - breaking crowd at his second free open - air concert on Brighton beach. People from all walks of life, from first - time ravers to dedicated superfans and curious locals, made it seem like the whole world converged on Brighton for the biggest free party in British history: Fatboy Slim’s Big Beach Boutique II. In 2022, Fatboy Slim, Anglo Management, and BMG are teaming up to create a 20th - anniversary celebratory product for everyone, whether you were there, missed out, or weren't even born yet. There are also two celebratory events on Brighton Beach in July.
