A Fine Mess: Vinyl EP

Recorded in upstate New York with Dave Fridmann, the five songs of A Fine Mess form a cohesive body of work with its own narrative and rhythm. The title track, the BBC 6 Music - played single 'Fine Mess', got further production from Kaines & Tom A.D. and mixing by Claudius Mittendorfer, who first worked with Interpol on 'Our Love To Admire'. This EP is a vibrant postcard from the band to fans during their 2019 world tour, continuing the energetic vibe of 'Marauder'. The artwork for 'A Fine Mess' features lost images from an abandoned Detroit police - station. An undeveloped film roll dated '1 - 20 - 96' in a crumbling evidence room shows latent images of a chaotic break - in scene. From the charming refrain of the title track to the soulful 'No Big Deal', the cathartic 'Real Life', the anthemic 'The Weekend', and the angular 'Thrones', A Fine Mess is a fresh and distinct addition to Interpol's works.
