Queen's twelfth studio album, 'A Kind of Magic', was recorded between September 1985 and April 1986 across three studios: Town House in London, Musicland in Munich, and Mountain Studios in Montreux. It started as the soundtrack for the movie Highlander. Director Russell Mulcahy picked Queen, seeing them as perfect for the job due to their powerful, anthemic songs. After watching the first 20 minutes of rough footage, the band was so inspired that they created more tracks, giving birth to this album. Each band member drew inspiration from different parts of the story, and the album showcases a wide range of emotions.
