“All the songs originated as poems,” Margolin says about the 2024 album Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me. “I wanted to push myself.” Dana argues that in a song, a writer can rely on musical tricks and repetition, but in a poem, it's just about the words. Recorded in the Somerset countryside in early 2024 by Dom Monks, a veteran engineer for Big Thief and Laura Marling, this is Porridge Radio's new album and their first new music in two years. It's a coming - of - age record inspired by burnout, the music industry, a relationship's end, and Dana's deepening commitment to her art. Dana says, “A lot of this album is about a wild and desperate kind of love. It's about losing myself in a relationship and the lingering insecurity and pain in a new one.” Songs like In A Dream I’m A Painting took on new meanings over time. The album was recorded in Frome as winter turned to spring in 2024. Dana recalls some tough moments during recording, but also a warm and close - knit environment.
