Recorded on tape in Somerset and Wales last summer, it's a milestone as Billie both wrote and co - produced (with Dom Monks) this record for the first time. After the well - received 2021 album Flora Fauna, along with Feeding Seahorses by Hand (2019) and Writing of Blues and Yellows (2016), Drop Cherries is highly anticipated. Flora Fauna got rave reviews from major music media like CLASH (9/10), and landed on multiple radio playlists at national broadcasters such as BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music. The album's title comes from a story Billie heard before songwriting. It uses the metaphor of 'dropping cherries' to represent offering love and doing all to make someone happy, capturing the essence of relationships in a vibrant and unpredictable way.
