Fourteen years after their start in Salford, Paddy Shine of GNOD says, 'We just wanted to jam and see what happened.' This led them to create a unique live - playing vibe. In the early days, they played at squats, house gigs, and parties, sharing ideas, books, and films. Their momentum quickly turned them into a band with great psychic power. 'Easy to Build, Hard to Destroy' is a vinyl LP compilation of hard - to - find, obscure, and unreleased early - era material, released on vinyl for the first time. It features an uncompromising devotion to rapture through noise and repetition. Tracks like 'They Live' and 'Inner Z' (previously only on Myspace) have a mantric energy, taking inspiration from Krautrock, Japanese rock, American underground psychedelia, and The Stooges' droogy nihilism.
