Description

Formed in 1976, by 1990, The Fall had gone through 18 line - up changes, releasing 14 albums and 24 singles. The only constant was leader and vocalist Mark Edward Smith, who was dedicated to the work ethic, creating obscure yet brilliant music that challenged mediocrity and the status quo. When The Fall signed to Fontana, there were significant changes. Guitarist Martin Bramah, who founded the group with Smith, came back, replacing Smith's ex - wife Brix, who had been in the group since 1983. Signing to a major label was just part of an evolutionary process. The three Fontana albums, Extricate, Shift - Work, and Code: Selfish, were remarkably consistent. Released in February 1990, Extricate made a bold statement by adding some Madchester beats to The Fall's sound. The band and Smith were in top form. From the catchy indie vibes of 'Hilary and The Littlest Rebel', the indirect attacks on past lovers in 'Sing! Harpy', to the touching thoughts on death and new love in 'Bill Is Dead', Extricate is one of the group's most coherent albums. Smith also collaborated with dance producers Coldcut to update the Lisa Stansfield - sung track 'My Telephone' into 'Telephone Thing'. This re - issue precisely replicates the original 1990 Fontana Records UK release and is pressed on high - quality 180g vinyl. Tracks include: 'Sing! Harpy', 'I'm Frank', 'Bill Is Dead', 'Black Monk Theme Part I', 'Popcorn Double Feature', 'Telephone Thing', 'Hilary', 'Chicago, Now!', 'The Littlest Rebel'.

To enjoy this Extricate vinyl LP, simply place it on your turntable and start the playback. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid leaving fingerprints or dirt on the record. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place and keep it away from direct sunlight to prevent warping. Also, use a proper record sleeve to protect it from scratches. After each use, gently wipe the vinyl with a soft, anti - static cloth to keep it in good condition. This way, you can keep enjoying the amazing music of The Fall for a long time.
