God of War III was a huge success, building on previous installments and ending with a brutally violent deicide. In the epic final chapter of the Greek saga, Kratos falls from Mount Olympus to the River Styx and climbs back up on his god - killing spree. Four of the composition team, Gerard K. Marino, Cris Velasco, Ron Fish, and Mike Reagan, have scored Kratos’ journey since the beginning, giving the God of War III soundtrack a consistent and coherent feel. The score is dramatic, dynamic, and operatic, perfectly matching the game's grand story. The orchestral arrangements are bold, with the Skywalker Session Orchestra's brass section creating a powerful sound and frenetic string ostinatos driving the music forward. The Czech National Symphony Chorus adds both humanity and divinity, with some parts led by growling male voices and others by soaring sopranos.
