Hanging Garden, the debut vinyl LP from Philadelphia's Corey Flood, is a masterpiece inspired by Throwing Muses, Helium, Pale Saints, and Brix Smith - Start's work with the Fall. It represents 'a reckoning with internal discord.' On the surface, its nine tracks pierce through the dark fog of the Wish You Hadn’t EP. Beneath, themes of ambivalence, uncertainty, and anxiety are elegantly layered in fuzz. Soft melodies, lush guitars, and churning rhythms tell relatable tales of gaslighting and self - doubt. There are also playful surprises like 70s krautrock guitar riffs and samba - influenced drum beats. Recorded at Headroom Studios in Philadelphia by Jackie Milestone, mixed by Natasha Jacobs, and mastered by Sarah Register.
