This 2LP pink vinyl album, 'I'm Ready', is one of Lucky Peterson's most bluesy and accomplished records. It's the first in the series on Verve after he left Alligator Records. Recorded in 1992 and produced by John Snyder, it gives a modern twist to classic blues songs like Muddy Waters’ 'I’m Ready', Willie Dixon’s 'You Shook Me', Little Walter’s 'It Ain’t Right' and Howlin’ Wolf’s 'Who’s Been Talking'. Peterson's original compositions such as 'Junk yard', 'Tribute to the king', 'Nothing but smoke' and 'Spankin’ leroy' blend seamlessly with these standards.
