London's slowcore band deathcrash has announced their new album Less, set to release on March 17th via untitled (recs). Recorded at the UK's most remote studio in the Outer Hebrides, Less follows their well - received 2022 album, Return. It's a powerful and introspective statement in reduction. Deathcrash singer Tiernan Banks says, “The mission was to be super minimal, just simple and beautiful guitar parts and really bare...less.” Initially, after Return, the band didn't plan a full - length. Bassist Patrick Fitzgerald said, “We thought of doing a different, pared - down EP.” But as they wrote, the songs became significant and personal. The result is an album with refined yet detailed arrangements and deep emotional resonance. Banks' voice ranges from soft whispers to guttural screams. On 'Duffy’s', he captures the fragile beauty like Elliott Smith, while on 'Empty Heavy', he unleashes a doom - metal growl with the band. The album has early press support from UK publications like Loud & Quiet and Line of Best Fit, and shows signs of US support too. A radio campaign for the second single 'Duffy’s' is planned, with expected support from BBC 6 Music, Apple Music and other tastemaker stations.
