In Christmas 1959, Van Morrison had his first live performance at Orangefield Secondary School. Back then, he was part of the skiffle group Midnight Special with his fellow pupils. In 2014, as the school prepared to close, Van Morrison returned for three special shows. 'Live at Orangefield' is a carefully curated album from these shows. Orangefield, which opened in 1957 as a boys' school, later merged with a girls' school before closing in 2014 due to a decline in student numbers.
