Description
OXBOW vocalist and lyricist Eugene Robinson reflects on the band's 35 - year output, saying he's long been frustrated that no one recognized their songs as love songs. Love wasn't the most obvious theme in their early work, but it takes center - stage on their eighth studio album and first new music in six years, Love’s Holiday, set to release on July 21, 2023, via Ipecac Recordings. Robinson admits that listening to an album full of love songs now, he understands why people didn't see the love in their earlier work. His view of love influences his feelings about it rather than the other way around. The band collaborated once again with Grammy - winning engineer and co - producer Joe Chiccarelli, known for his work with The White Stripes and My Morning Jacket. Love’s Holiday is the third OXBOW album recorded with Chiccarelli, and the band members' trust in him led the album to explore more alluring directions. It features guest appearances from Roger Joseph Manning Jr. of Jellyfish and Lingua Ignota, and the artwork is by Aaron Turner of Isis and Sumac. Tracks include Dead Ahead, Icy White & Crystalline, Lovely Murk (ft. Lingua Ignota), 1000 Hours (ft. Roger Joseph Manning Jr.), All Gone, The Night the Room Started Burning, Million Dollar Weekend, The Second Talk, and Gunwale.
To enjoy your Love’s Holiday vinyl LP, first, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the vinyl on the turntable and use the tonearm to lower the needle onto the lead - in groove. Sit back and let the beautiful music play. When you're done, carefully lift the tonearm and return it to its rest position. Then, take the vinyl off the turntable and place it back in its sleeve. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat to prevent warping. Keep the sleeve clean to avoid dust getting on the record. If the record gets dirty, you can use a record cleaning brush to gently remove the dust. Avoid touching the playing surface of the vinyl with your bare hands as the oils from your skin can damage it.
