Jim Jarmusch and Carter Logan, the founding members of SQÜRL, embark on a sonic adventure exploring the cinematic works of Dadaist pioneer Man Ray. This captivating project seamlessly combines music and film. For the past eight years, SQÜRL has wowed audiences with live scores for Man Ray's short films at sold - out shows in top venues like the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and the Art Institute of Chicago. In spring 2023, on the 100th anniversary of Man Ray's first foray into filmmaking, the newly restored Return to Reason premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Produced by Womanray and Cinenovo, Return to Reason is an anthology of four silent short films by Man Ray, each paired with an original score by SQÜRL. Jarmusch and Logan, experimental multi - disciplinary artists, crafted these scores to create an ecstatic state between consciousness and the surreal. The album Music for Man Ray, recorded live at the Centre Pompidou in February 2023, features distorted guitars, hypnotic feedback, loops, and affected synthesizers. It's a journey through the films' themes. Now, both Return to Reason and Music for Man Ray are available, showing the great creative synergy between Man Ray's cinema and SQÜRL's music. 2LP Tracklist: 1. Starfish 2. Leave Me Alone 3. To use this 2LP vinyl record, simply place it on a turntable and use the tonearm to drop the needle gently onto the start of the groove. Make sure your turntable is set up properly and the speed is set to the correct RPM (usually 33 1/3 for LPs). When you're done listening, lift the tonearm carefully and return it to its rest. To keep your record in good condition, always handle it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches on the playing surface. Store it in a cool, dry place, and keep it upright in a record sleeve to prevent warping. If the record gets dirty, you can use a record cleaning brush to gently remove dust. Don't use any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on the record as this can damage it.
