Originally released in January 1975 on Strata - East Records, it'll be available on Arc Records from 15th May 2020. Shirley created this record to express herself freely, fed up with the restrictions of her past. With full control over the masters, she recorded at Blue Rock Studio in November 1974. Harold Vick, an 'unsung tenor saxophonist', and Billy Higgins, the most recorded drummer in Blue Note history, brought her vision to life. Shirley, known as the 'Queen of the Organ', had a legendary career and is remembered for her work with greats like Eddie 'Lockjaw' Davis and Stanley Turrentine. Now, thanks to a collaboration with Arc Records, this remarkable album is ready to be rediscovered.
