Pang!: Green Vinyl LP

Gruff Rhys' new album, 'Pang!', is a unique Welsh - language pop gem. It features a few Zulu verses and an English title. Developed over about 18 months, this solo album is produced and mixed by South African electronic artist Mmusi and will be released by Rough Trade Records on September 13, 2019. Recorded in Cardiff, Wales, and mixed in Johannesburg, South Africa. The album boasts amazing drumming by Welsh - American Kliph Scurlock, brass by Gavin Fitzjohn, and flute and percussion by engineer Kris Jenkins. Muzi contributes beats, bass and ah's, while Gruff takes on vocals and guitar. Gruff says 'Pang!' started as a folk reel and became a 'list' song about various pangs like hunger, regret. Using 'pang' in a Welsh track might seem odd but is acceptable, like 'Magazine' in English songs.
