Description

The 4th full - length studio album by Robert Alfons, known as TR/ST (formerly Trust), Performance, dives deeper into the gritty synth - pop psychodrama that the project has developed and perfected over a decade. Recorded in LA, the songs are filled with dread, lust, reckoning, and abandon, set against the backdrop of light - polluted city streets. Alfons co - produced this collection with Nightfeelings, creating a rich, smoky blend of eerie synths, deep bass, and a soulful crooning voice. The album's title comes from a friend's comment on Alfons' performative nature. The opening track, 'Soon,' starts with hymnal electronics and then hits the dance floor with a big new - wave hook and sharp lyrics. The music shifts between beauty and bitterness, anthems and anguish, making melancholia feel huge. Alfons uses pop dynamics and production skills as a weapon in tracks like 'All At Once,' 'The Shore,' 'Dark Day,' and 'Boys of LA.' Throughout the album, there's a heightened sense of emotional turmoil, stained by guilt and memories. Performance is a self - contained world that's persuasive, immersive, and intoxicating, right at the edge of being stirring and disturbing. Alfons' voice is the center of the storm, singing a collage of thoughts and confessions. He's both observer and instigator, performer and playwright. Tracklist: A1. Soon, A2. Regret, A3. All at Once, A4. The Shore, A5. Boys of LA; B1. Clowned, B2. Dark Day, B3. Performance, B4. Warp.

To enjoy this vinyl LP, first, make sure your turntable is set up properly. Place the vinyl gently on the turntable platter and use the tonearm to carefully lower the needle onto the first groove of the record. When you're done listening, lift the tonearm gently and return it to its rest position. Keep the vinyl in a cool, dry place to prevent warping. Avoid touching the grooves with your fingers as it can leave dirt and oil, which may affect the sound quality. Clean the vinyl regularly using a proper record cleaning brush to maintain the best sound.
