Rough Trade Records and Audika Records are thrilled to present 'Picture of Bunny Rabbit', a brand - new album featuring previously unreleased World Of Echo era material by Arthur Russell from 1985/86. This album showcases nine previously unheard performances from that time, compiled from completed masters sourced from two unique test pressings, one of which was dated 9/15/85 by Arthur and provided by his mother and sister. Four more tracks were unearthed from his tape archive. The track list includes a stunning solo recording of 'In The Light of a Miracle' and the mysterious title instrumental 'Picture of Bunny Rabbit', written for a friend's pet rabbit. Most of the material was recorded at Battery Sound Studios in New York, opposite the World Trade Center, and at Arthur's East Village apartment studio. In 1986, Arthur Russell was diagnosed with HIV, the same year he released his career - defining album 'World of Echo'. His illness sadly cut short his artistic exploration. Despite this, his final years were filled with creative dedication. He performed 'World of Echo' material regularly and collaborated with New York's dance community. In 1993, he posthumously won a Bessie Composer Award. This release is part of a series with Audika Records, which has been curating Arthur Russell's music since 2004, helping him reach a wider audience. A new generation now recognizes Russell as a visionary influence on today's music.
