Quietly Blowing It: Vinyl LP

Songwriter M.C. Taylor of Hiss Golden Messenger says his new album Quietly Blowing It is a search for peace. It's a retrospective of his past five years, painted in impressionistic hues. Taylor wrote and arranged the album in his 8’ × 10’ home studio, surrounded by books, records, and old guitars as he watched the chaotic world outside. Writing became a daily routine, a refreshing change after years on the road. Between March and June, he wrote and recorded over two dozen songs, often playing all the instruments himself. In July, the band went to Overdub Lane in Durham, NC, to record the album as an organic unit. Throughout Quietly Blowing It, Taylor offers an intimate look at our 'broken American moment', much like on his GRAMMY® - nominated Terms of Surrender. The album takes listeners on a musical journey through themes of growing up, loss, and more. It distills the Hiss Golden Messenger groove, from the rollicking 'The Great Mystifier' to the soulful 'Sanctuary'.
