Description

Regimental Sgt. Zippo is the long - awaited 'album that never was' from the iconic Elton John. In early 1968, after signing with DJM, he recorded 12 amazing tracks at DJM studios on London’s New Oxford Street for his debut album. The reason for its non - release remains a mystery, but now we've uncovered the original running order. After a successful limited mono release for Record Store Day in 2021, we're excited to offer a stereo industry - wide release. This stereo mix was carefully crafted at Abbey Road by Elton’s dedicated catalogue team. The LP edition comes with a printed inner bag featuring full lyrics, and the CD edition includes both stereo and mono mixes. Here's the tracklist: Side 1: 1. When I Was Tealby Abbey; 2. And The Clock Goes Round; 3. Sitting Doing Nothing; 4. Turn To Me; 5. Angel Tree; 6. Regimental Sgt. Zippo. Side 2: 1. A Dandelion Dies In The Wind; 2. You’ll Be Sorry To See Me Go; 3. You’re My Woman (aka Nina); 4. Tartan Coloured Lady; 5. Hourglass; 6. Watching The Planes Go By.

To enjoy this Regimental Sgt. Zippo vinyl LP or CD, simply insert the LP into your record player or the CD into your CD player. Make sure your player is in good working condition. For the LP, handle it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. When not in use, store the LP in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. The CD should be stored in its case to prevent damage. Listen to it at your leisure and immerse yourself in the early sounds of Elton John. Enjoy the music!
