Màiri Morrison and Alasdair Roberts team up with Canadian bassist and musical arranger Pete Johnston. They perform a collection of traditional Scottish - rooted songs gathered in Maritime Canada by folklorist Helen Creighton (1899 - 1989). Recorded in Nova Scotia with Pete and a group of Canadian musicians, Màiri and Alasdair sing these far - traveled Scots ballads and Gaelic lyrical songs with a blend of poignancy and playfulness, always keeping the feeling of exile in their hearts.
