Description

Salt Peter, originally released in 1995 by Ruby (AKA Lesley Rankine), gained critical acclaim under the trip - hop and electronica tags. It quickly became the go - to soundtrack for students, clubbers, and vinyl enthusiasts. Twenty - five years later, after the death of their mother, Rankine and her brother, Scott Firth (bassist with PIL), were in Covid lockdown. One night, while brainstorming, Rankine remade an old Salt Peter song. So impressed with the result, she decided to recreate the entire album. Instead of just remixing or remastering, she rebuilt it from scratch with new production, arrangements, and vocals. With Scott's input in production, engineering, and mixing, Salt Peter 25 is a whole new album, yet still showcases Rankine's unique vocals and her love for the quirky and dark. The album has evolved with densely textured sounds and uncompromising arrangements. It's a deeply personal album made during tough times. The cover features a striking photo of Lesley and Scott's mother and other family photos, echoing the original album's aesthetics. Now, it's available on gorgeous orange double vinyl with a beautiful gatefold sleeve, featuring additional art by Toronto - based designer Henry Faber.

To enjoy your Salt Peter 25 orange double vinyl, first, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Gently remove the vinyl from the gatefold sleeve, holding it by the edges to avoid fingerprints on the playing surface. Place the record on the turntable and set the stylus carefully on the lead - in groove. Sit back and relax as you listen to the unique sounds of this album. When you're done, lift the stylus gently and return it to its rest. Then, put the vinyl back in its sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Keep the album in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its quality over time. Avoid touching the vinyl with dirty or wet hands as this can damage the sound quality.
