Description
Seeker, a live - recorded vinyl LP, was made at Palmetto Studios in Los Angeles with close friends and engineer Jason Quever. Cronin takes his powerful power - pop into darker realms. Tracks like “Show Me” show isolation, “Fire” reveals desperation, and “Sold” expresses unadorned heartache.
This LP comes with a fateful backstory. Cronin was stuck after a tough few years of changing relationships. To overcome writer's block and anxiety, he went to a cabin in Idyllwild, a small mountain town in southern California. Alone with his cat, Ernie, he spent a month there, writing and demoing most of Seeker.
But an arson - started fire forced him to leave abruptly. He managed to save his instruments, equipment, and Ernie. Back in LA, he gathered friends and recorded live, with most of the record backed by Ty Segall’s Freedom Band where he plays bass.
Cronin aimed for organic, natural sounds, like The Beatles’ White Album. He even brought a charred pine cone from the woods to the studio. Fire, symbolizing purging and rebirth, is the central theme of this record. Cronin, the seeker, was looking for answers, direction, and peace.
