This album is a gem featuring amazing collaborations with top - notch artists. Vocalists like Diana Krall, Alison Krauss, James Taylor, along with Dave Brubeck, Chris Botti and others lend their unique talents to the album. Unlike ordinary Christmas albums, it doesn't just stick to traditional carols. It covers a wide range of music in an ambitious way. Yo - Yo Ma starts with a beautiful version of the classic “Dona Nobis Pacem (Give Us Peace)”, showing off his skills by playing both the melody and counterpoint through overdubbing. Jazz pianist and vocalist Diana Krall is outstanding in her swinging performance of Jerome Kern’s “You Couldn’t Be Cuter”, with bassist John Clayton adding to the charm.
