Description
Pink Floyd is releasing two physical versions of their first newly - recorded music in over 25 years, 'Hey Hey Rise Up'. Initially released digitally in April to support the people of Ukraine and hitting #1 in 29 countries, this single will be available on 7 - inch vinyl and CD. Both formats come with a newly reworked 'A Great Day For Freedom' from the 1994 album The Division Bell. The track features David Gilmour, Nick Mason, long - time Pink Floyd bass player Guy Pratt, Nitin Sawhney on keyboards, and Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Ukrainian band Boombox on lead vocals, with vocal harmonies by Romany and David Gilmour. When recorded in late March, Andriy, who left the US tour to fight for his country, was recovering from a shrapnel injury in a Kyiv hospital. Proceeds from the physical and ongoing digital sales go to Ukraine humanitarian relief. For this limited edition, David Gilmour revisited 'A Great Day For Freedom' using original tapes with Nick Mason on drums, Richard Wright on keyboards, and backing vocals from Sam Brown, Claudia Fontaine, and Durga McBroom. The 'The Sunflower Look' artwork features a unique painting of Ukraine's national flower by Cuban artist Yosan Leon, referencing the woman who gave sunflower seeds to Russian soldiers.
Using this Pink Floyd vinyl single is easy. Just place it on a compatible turntable, gently drop the needle on the record, and enjoy the amazing music.
