Pianist Junior Mance, an experienced musician who's worked on albums with Dinah Washington and Cannonball Adderley, got his chance to record his own album from Norman Granz during a session with Dizzy Gillespie. The outcome is this 1959 debut album. It's a bluesy and swinging record featuring Gillespie’s drummer Lex Humphries and bassist Ray Brown. Key tracks are the original 'Jubilation' and Cole Porter’s 'Love For Sale'. This Verve By Request album is pressed on 180 - gram vinyl at Third Man in Detroit.
