Description

Formed in 1976, by 1990, The Fall had gone through 18 line - ups, releasing 14 albums and 24 singles. The only constant was leader and vocalist Mark Edward Smith, who was dedicated to the work ethic, creating music of obscure brilliance. He railed against mediocrity and flailed against the status quo. When The Fall signed to Fontana, there were big changes. Guitarist Martin Bramah, who co - founded the group with Smith, returned, replacing Smith's ex - wife Brix, who had been in the group since 1983. Signing to a major label was just part of an evolutionary process. The three Fontana albums, Extricate, Shift - Work, and Code: Selfish, were amazingly consistent. In 1992, Code: Selfish marked the arrival of Dave Bush on keyboards, adding a harder, techno - edge to the music. Less focused than its predecessors, the album gradually reveals its many charms. The initially hard - to - understand seven - minute opening of The Birmingham School of Business School gives way to the Top 40 commercialism of Free Range. The glam stomp of Immortality and Two - Face! is balanced with the wistful introspection of Time Enough At Last and Gentleman's Agreement. This re - issue exactly replicates the original 1992 Fontana Records UK release and is pressed on high - quality 180g vinyl. Tracks include The Birmingham School Of Business School, Free Range, Return, Time, Enough At Last, Everything Hurtz, Immortality, Two - Face!, Just Waiting, So - Called Dangerous, Gentlemen's Agreement, Married, 2 Kids, and Crew Filth.

This vinyl LP of Code - Selfish is a great music collectible. To use it, just put the record on your turntable, lower the needle gently onto the grooves, and enjoy the music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting dirt on the record. Also, don't touch the grooves directly. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place and keep it in its sleeve when not in use. This will help keep the record in good condition for a long time.
