Over two years, the main parts of these songs were recorded during full - band studio sessions in late 2019 and early 2020. Amid the long, slow days of the pandemic, O’Brien refined them in his small home studio in Dublin. Then, the album was expertly mixed by David Wrench, known for his work with Frank Ocean, The xx, and FKA Twigs. O’Brien shares about the creation of Fever Dreams, saying he wanted to write something generous for both himself and the listeners, as sometimes the most delirious states can bring the most ecstatic, euphoric, and escapist dreams.
